You know you're long overdue for a haircut when it's long enough to get singed while you're heating something on the stove. One minute I'm scalding milk, and the next minute, I hear a quiet sizzle and smell something burning, only to find it's my own hair!
I've been meaning to get a haircut for a while now, but with things being so busy, it was on the bottom of my to do list. That is, until my hair nearly caught on fire! Yes I know I exaggerate. :)
So this afternoon, I decided it just needed to be done. Fortunately my usual hair person just happened to be home. That would be my mom. :) Just before I was about to leave to pick up Austin, I asked if she could cut my hair later today. With the confidence of a professional, she said she could do it that very minute. I didn't want to be late for pick up, but I knew my mom was fast, very fast, and that once Austin came home, my haircut might fall to the wayside.
Although my mom is not in fact a professional, she gets the job done, and she's been cutting my hair ever since I can remember. I love that I can get my hair cut on a whim, that it's free, and that all I need is my mom, a comb, scissors and some plastic bags.
Thank you Mom for a lifetime guarantee of free five minute haircuts. :)
