Glasses (Thankfulness Challenge - Day 11)

I'm thankful for glasses.

I started wearing glasses toward the end of my fifth grade year.

(you can all stop laughing now!)

I was less than thrilled about it, but what made it worse was that with each passing year, my vision kept getting worse, and my lenses kept getting thicker. Fast forward 25 years or so, and I'm pretty much useless without them. I can barely see without them, and consider them to be a necessity in order to function in my daily life.

Let's put it this way, if there were an earthquake in the middle of the night, one of the first things I would grab would be my glasses. Same thing if there were a fire. If I could only have a handful of things with me on a remote island, my glasses would be an obvious choice.

So even though glasses can be a pain at times, I am extremely grateful for them. Not only do they help me function in daily life, but they also enable me to see and appreciate all the wonderful things God has made.

What are you thankful for?
