This past Saturday, Sam and Austin woke up in the wee hours of the morning to watch the live broadcast of the Korea vs. Greece World Cup game at the Staples Center. The game started at 4:30am so they were out the door by 2:30am.
Here's our son dressed and ready to go, but barely able to keep his eyes open.
My parents happily joined in on the fun, but as you can see by the blank look on Austin's face, he had yet to fully wake up. :)
It's not often you see this many Koreans gathered in one place, but Korean pride was out in full force as roughly 10,000 fans gathered to cheer Korea on. They gave out free t-shirts and flags and from the looks of it, everyone was wearing their shirts.
Austin eventually woke up (i'm sure that bag of popcorn helped) and proudly donned his Korea gear with Daddy. The Korea bandanas were courtesy of my mom from the giveaway at the 2006 World Cup.
Game face on!
GO KOREA!
Korea wins 2-0!
At about 6:30am, Bethany and I were still sound asleep when I could hear my boys coming in through the front door. The next thing I know, Austin was whispering "Korea won! Korea won!" in my ear. He had a great time and is now looking forward to Korea's next match against Argentina. This time, he said he wanted to watch it at home and asked if I could make him some popcorn too. :)

HOW FUN that Austin got to watch the game in such an incredible venue! Makes me wish I lived in So Cal... although I doubt I could have gotten up that early :)
